This woman had a predilection for the finer things in life. But in spite of the conspicuous beauty that she embodied and expressed - and the fact that she knew the Lord- she was one of the unhappiest people I have ever known. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate her, but no matter where she lived or worked, she never managed to stay happy for long. She would move to a new place, thinking that it was going to be the land of milk-and-honey, but soon after, she would start yearning for the place she had left, annoying everyone who had helped her move.Her interpersonal relationships followed the same pattern: Everyone she never worked with was 'nasty' to her sooner or later and then it would only be a matter of time before she went looking for a new job and new friends all over again. When my husband and I heard that yet another imminent departure was on the horizon, he dryly remarked: 'Wherever you are, YOU ARE...'
