For the last 17 years i have been receiving bonus this time of the year which means I buy more stuff for Christmas. The kids will receive toys as gifts, extra food and clothes, but to my surprise "This Christmas" there is NO BONUS (I'm only a casual/freelancer).
We do not know what our future holds but I do know who does and that is God.
For the first time no bonus BUT "This Christmas" I was more blessed than my previous. This is why...
My kids clothes were sorted 2days before Christmas, my daughter was blessed and my son by family members all I had to do was settle what was still required. My daughter Kayla was so excited as I set a day to shop only for her #happykids. They also knew that "This Christmas" there will be no gifts.
I'm a Sunday School Leader and for the 2nd year we blessed the community kids with gifts in a form of shoes boxes.
"This Christmas" I decided to bless the #1"Sunrise Kids" they a feeding scheme (managed by Chris & Bonnie Biegnaar) and the kids are from Lavender Hill & #2Straatwerk/Ophelp admin office staff kids. I did not know how many boxes there will be but I knew we had to have 70 boxes for our kids. On the day of the handing the gifts it was more than enough Praise God!!
#1"Sunrise Kids"
I was so happy because I was worried. I spend some time with Sunrise kids because we prepared a meal aswell. I was so overwhelmed and emotional has for some of these kids it was the first time receiving a gift. 🎁🙏 One of the kids said "Antie ek wil nie pap he nie, ek se, niks pap vandag nie. All these kids eat is porridge.
#2Straatwerk/Ophelp
I was invited to their 10th anniversary thanksgiving. Have you ever been in a ⛪ with about 100 #homeless people?? On the 22nd December 2014 I was. Straatwerk is a NGO and offers work (cleaning streets of Cape Town) for the homeless around #CapeTown and in the same minister God's word and salvation. How am I part of this, God has opened a door ..where I work at an accounting company and I pay straarwerk's wages so I'm so part of them.
This day was my best day of 2o14 spending time with the homeless, bless them with God's word and serve them with coffee. To them all they need to a home, food, work,love and most importantly God. This is what this NGO try and help them with. I am blessed to be part of this project and looking forward to 2015 to #volunteer. And all I needed to do was to deliver the gift boxes to the admin staff but ended up also spending time with the homeless.
"This Christmas" there was no bonus, no tree,no gifts but my family was blessed,time spend and giving for our kids in the community and homeless, aprrecaition ,grateful ,thankful and had a blessed Christmas day with my family and friends.
No money can bring inner joy or happiness only God can.
